What is Discovery Camp?

Discovery Camp is a three, four, or even five-day camp of anointing, ministry, teaching, workshops, personal ministry, fellowship, food, sports, fun, and much more. Each camp is designed for maximum ministry. Discovery Camp provides ministry sessions meeting the needs of the groups. Each Discovery Camp attendance will average about 900-1000. A nation-wide poll concluded that 100% of the pastors agreed that their church needed a summer camp program for children and teens. Discovery camp will provide children and teens the opportunity to discover a relationship with Jesus Christ and the promises that are ahead for those who choose to follow after Him.

How much is Discovery Camp?

When do I arrive and depart from Discovery Camp?

Discovery Camp registration begins at 3:00 p.m. on the opening day of camp.

The departure time is 11:00 a.m. on the concluding day of your scheduled camp.

Who gets to come?

The Junior Kid’s camps are open for all children 7-12 years of age. The Youth camps are available for all teenagers from the age of 13 and up. Our P.K.’s Club is available for all leaders’ children ages 3-11, during our youth camps only. Each group must have their own leaders who stay in the dorms with their group. Leaders pay the same price as the campers. The leader/camper ratio at Kid’s camps is 1 leader per 8 children. The leader/camper ratio at Youth camps is 1 leader per 10 youth.

How do I sign up?

Each church group is required to register with a refundable, transferable $250.00 deposit for camp. This deposit may go towards your balance at the time of registration or can automatically be left to allow your group to become a Discovery Camp Partner for the following summer. In addition to each camp date reserved, a $25.00 per church group registration fee is required. Groups are responsible to pay the complete balance upon arrival at registration.

What happens if I cancel?

Any and all cancellations made after the Reservation Form has been signed, will result in a forfeiture of their $250.00 deposit. Cancellations made after the Group Agreement Form has been signed will forfeit the group deposit and will also hold the group accountable for payment of 50% of confirmed total amount. Upon registering, a complete information packet will be sent to you. Your $250.00 deposit, plus the $25.00 registration fee, may be mailed in today along with your Discovery Camp 2010 Reservation Form to secure you a summer camp date.

What facilities and activities are available?

Discovery Camp sessions are hosted at beautiful Country Camp, a 1088-acre Christian camp facility with a 2,000 seat capacity venue, named Ambassadors’ Hall, full service cafeteria, A/C dorms, concessions, 440 foot waterslide, 52 foot high double-waterslide, horseback rides*, go-carts*, swimming pool, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, bookstore, and the F.E. “Papa” Ward Prayer Garden. Some of the electives will include choir, drama, Group Talent Quest, and sports. Special leadership sessions are conducted for all adult leaders during each camp visit.

What is spiritually taught at Discovery Camp?

Basic Biblical principles are adhered to with a spirit-filled atmosphere emphasizing redemptive truths encouraging children and youth to an intimate, personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. The baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues is presented.

Will our group stay in the same dorm?

The time at camp is a special time for youth group unity. Our goal is to keep each group together. However, due to limited spacing, groups may be divided. If a group is divided, we will work with the leader of the group to get the best arrangements possible. Please note that part of camp is having the opportunity to meet new friends in a Christian environment.

What is a Discovery Camp Partner group?

A church group that chooses to have it’s $250.00 deposit remain for the next summer.

What are the benefits of becoming a Discovery Camp Partner group?

Discovery Camp Partner Groups receive two special benefits:

#1 Summer Camp dates are released to them first, before dates are released nationwide.

#2 Partner Groups receive the discounted partner rate.

What happens if we leave our deposit and later request a refund?

Deposits are only returned in the month of February and requests must be received in written form by the Discovery Camp office.

What is a Special Celebration Camp?

Discovery Camp is celebrating 22 years! In celebration of 22 years we have designated one Junior Mini Camp as our Special Celebration Camp with special celebration rate.

What must I know before reserving my group at the 2010 Special Celebration Camp?

Any reservation over 40 will need to fill out an agreement form and have into the Discovery Camp offices by the required date on the agreement form. The Special Celebration rate is only available for on campus lodging.
